WHAT THIS SITE IS ABOUT

The first Annual KNAACK-A-PALOOZA has come and gone!!

This special event was a fund raiser for the
Red Lake Falls High School Music Department

All proceeds will go to The Kim Knaack Endowment Fund.

KNAACK-A-PALOOZA happened on Saturday May 3, 2008 at the Rusty Nail Bar & Grill
It was a resounding success with standing room only from about 7:00 pm on.

Downtown Main Street - Thief River Falls, MN.
It went from 4:00 pm to 1:00am.

Throughout Kim's musical career he played with and/or ran sound for many
different bands. These bands lent their time and talent to perform at KNAACK-A-PALOOZA.

Performing was Kim's last band, Straight Up; Bonzai; No Control; Skeleton Crew; Luck of the Draw; Kwick Fixxx; Wood Picks; and Cedar Ridge.
Alien Gray couldn't make it due to scheduling issues.
KNAACK-A-PALOOZA T Shirts were sold
as well as numerous Silent Auctions on donated items.

Some info on bands that performed.

STRAIGHT UP: Kim was the founder and drummer of this band, along with Kelly Mapes, Randy & Darroll Vasek, Mike Jacobs and Tim Loe.

NO CONTROL: Kim ran sound for this band. Members include Jason & Shelly Guzek, Randy & Darroll Vasek and Mark Olson.

BONZAI: Members Dean Dalen, Shelly Helm Guzek, Jason Guzek, Dave Olson and Phil Morud all jammed in Kim's garage at one time or another. Jason Guzek also went to school with Kim in Red Lake Falls.

CEDAR RIDGE: Kim was the drummer for this group with Sue Helm, Bob Haring and Duane Haugen.

LUCK OF THE DRAW: Kim subbed as a bassist one time and a couple years later drummed for this band in his early years. It was his first band he played professionally for in percussion. Original members are Bob Houle and Brent Waale. Kim joined for a year, left to help form Cedar Ridge, then came back and brought Sue Helm on board as bassist. Brent introduced Kim to Sonja. Sonja joined the band later for awhile as a keyboardist when Kim re-joined LOTD.

ALIEN GRAY: Kim was drummer for this group. Members Ron Helm, Kelly Mapes, Kevin Olsen and Jon Dent. This band wasn't able to perform due to scheduling issues.

SKELETON CREW: Kim jammed with these guys on numerous occasions. Members Duane Haugen, Mark McCraw, Andy Brateng, and Dave Paul.

KWICK FIXXX: Kim ran sound for this band. He also ran sound for Almost Even which included Kwick Fixx member Matt Schafer. Other members include Lee Kaml, Jeremy Wilson and Jeff Davis.

WOOD PICKS: Dustin Keller from this group was also in Almost Even which Kim ran sound for. Other members of the Wood Picks include Joe Kezar, Greg Daley and Milo Ballingrud.
